Dentists With A Heart

Jonathan Rodgers is one of 83 patients thankful for an opportunity to open wide.

"It keeps me up every night. It's like putting salt in a wound," said Rodgers as he described a severe pain in one of his back teeth.

He went to Northcutt Dental Practice in Fairhope to get some relief. He left without the pain and without the tooth.

"By the time alot of these patients come here they've been not sleeping for several days," said Dr. David Northcutt.

Northcutt opened up his dental office Friday offering free tooth extraction to anyone who needed it.

"We hear a whole lot of patients come in and say we really appreciate y'all doing this because I lost my job or I just don't have the money to pay for it," said Northcutt.

Across the country, 27% of Americans do not have dental insurance. They have to dig deep in their pockets for a procedure like this.

A tooth extraction normally costs anywhere from $100 to $350.
